Hugh Fox was born in Chicago in 1932, got his B.A. and M.A. in English literature from Loyola University in Chicago (M.A. thesis: "The Art Theory of Sir Joshua Reynolds"), then got a Ph.D. in American Lit from the U. of Illinois, married the Peruvian poet Lucia Ungaro de Zevallos and got a job teaching literature and film at Loyola U. in L.A., began visiting ALL the pre-Columbian ruins in the Americas (Peru, Bolivia, the Amazon, Mexico, N. America), fell strongly under the influence of ancient myth, discovered New World-Old World links that no one had ever discovered before (like the fact that the language of the Incas in Peru was as close to Arabic as Spanish is to Portuguese).

110 books published, his most recent THE COLLECTED POETRY OF HUGH FOX (540 pages) published by World Audience in NYC. Just returned from Brazil (married to a Brazilian pathologist for the last 20 years) where he wrote 42 poems in Portuguese, is now translating them into English.
