John Greiner grew up in a working class neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Earning money at numerous odd jobs from back stage attendant at a theatre, skid row bartender, taxi dispatcher and magazine editor, Greiner eventually moved to New York City where he received a BA Degree in Literature and Theatre from The New School for Social Research.
Since that time he has traveled to many disparate parts of the world drinking in dives from Brooklyn to Botswana, Hell’s Kitchen to Hanoi and recently returned to his beloved to New York City after a year of drifting through the streets of Paris.
Greiner’s poetry and short stories have appeared in numerous international magazines and his plays have received successful runs in New York City, Chicago and Gloucester, Massachusetts. |
